Taking it to the streets: Baltimore's hope, our solution
Hope Solution is taking its cause to the streets of Baltimore, where a series of block parties are planned to attract residents in neighborhoods with the highest incidence of lead poison.
The goal is raise awareness of methods to overcome this enormous problem.
The all-ages, music plus informational events will feature local entertainment and presentations about overcoming lead poison. Party foods will be those known to help rid the body of toxins. Plans call for four of these events annually, aimed to attract 1,000 residents. Of these, approximately 300 will suffer from lead poison or know others who do. The coolest part of all is a three-month supply of Lead Detox and Brilliance will be distributed to those in need.
In addition, Hope Solution is partnering with schools, to make presentations to students and their families. As with the charity block parties, information on safe diet and recipes, and how to work with children at home will be shared. Again, targeting areas of high contamination, Hope Solution is reaching out children and families most in need.
